Britt Poster Award

  • What is the Britt Poster Award?
    • The John Britt Poster Award recognizes exceptional student work displayed in poster format for students that have earned less than 60 credit hours and more than 60 credit hours across the Humanities, Professional Studies, Social Science, and STEM categories.
    • Honors directors may nominate two students to enter the Britt Poster Award Competitions. However, the topics of each entry must focus on a different, unrelated research project. If projects are the same or closely related for both entries, both will be eliminated for consideration for an award.
  • Guidelines
    • A maximum of three Britt Poster awards may be awarded for each of two categories:
      1. lower-division students who have fewer than 60 hours of college/university credit (at the deadline of submissions), and,
      2. upper-division students who have earned 60 hours or more of college/university credit
    • Submissions for the Britt Poster Competition must be approved by each institution's honors director and indicate the director's advocacy of the excellence of the work
    • Each institution may submit a maximum of two Britt Poster Competition nominees
    • Must come from dues-paying institutions
    • Directors should note that "academic credit" includes dual enrollment courses taken during high school and hours received by transfer from another institution.
    • Must be submitted using the GPHC Britt Poster Competition Submission Form
  • Dates and Deadlines
    • The deadline for submission is February 2, 2024, by 5pm.
    • Extensions cannot be granted nor can changes be made to submissions by the host institution or any other individual once received.
    • Conference registration must be completed by the Early Bird deadline of February 15, 2024, in order for a submission to be considered.
    • Students and honors directors will be notified if they are presenting at the conference by Friday, February 9, 2024.
  • Poster Judging
    • Posters will be judged on Friday, March 22, from 3:30-5:30pm at Oklahoma State University. At this time, the posters will be presented in the Student Union Ballroom (265 Student Union), but that is subject to change. Those presenting will be notified of location prior to the conference.
    • Posters will be judged by professors in the category that best matches their expertise.
    • Winners will be announced at the GPHC dinner on Saturday, March 23rd.
    • Judges may elect not to award the maximum number of awards.
