Honors Housing

Honors College students have one option for honors housing on campus, Stout Hall. Honors housing is a terrific option for students, but is not required for honors students to live in an Honors LLP.

Stout Hall

Built in the late 1930s, Stout was renovated in 2002 but its original architecture and character were preserved in its large porch, formal living room, piano parlors, and ornate details. Approximately 200-250 current honors students call Stout home each semester, and they enjoy a sink and individual thermostat in each fully furnished room, computer network connections, cable TV, and lounges on each floor. Stout also is centrally located on the OSU campus, and men and women are housed in separate wings of the building.

The entire environment of honors housing is designed to be conducive to the study needs of honors students. In addition to the academic benefits of living in honors housing, though, students also have the opportunity to participate in the other activities available to students living in the OSU residence halls, including intramural sports and social activities.

To apply for honors housing, students complete a Residential Life Housing Contract and indicate Stout Hall as their preference. For more information, please see Housing and Residential Life.
