Honors Hooding Ceremony Updates
Fall 2020 Hooding Ceremonies
April 7, 2020
We are so sorry to have to announce that due to the current social distancing guidelines, the Spring 2020 Honors Hooding and Award Ceremony has been cancelled. We were very much looking forward to honoring your accomplishments and know that this is very disappointing to our students and their families. Attaining the Honors Degree or an Honors Award is a great achievement and you and your families should be very proud. We are looking at ways to celebrate our 2020 Honors graduates in the future and will be in touch.
As of now, you can expect your honors award certificates to be mailed to your permanent address on file sometime in the late summer or the early fall. Congratulations on your upcoming graduation and we wish you the absolute best.
April 14, 2020
Congratulations on your upcoming graduation and completion of the Honors College Degree, the highest undergraduate academic distinction at Oklahoma State University. Although the Spring 2020 Honors Hooding and Award Ceremony will not be taking place due to social distancing guidelines, we are pleased to invite you to attend and be recognized at the Fall 2020 Honors Hooding. This will take place on the afternoon of Friday, December 11, 2020. Honors College Degree students wear Bachelor Honors hoods at the graduation ceremony and at commencement to represent their academic achievement. If you are able to attend the Fall ceremony, please wear your cap and gown and bring your Honors College hood. You can purchase your Honors Hood here by providing your student name and Banner ID. Hoods can be ordered now, if you would like one for private photos or family celebrations.
We will follow up with details regarding the hooding in the Fall.
Open Invitation to Ring the Old Central Bell
It is a tradition for our Honors graduates to ring the Old Central Bell immediately following their Honors Hooding and Award Ceremony. Given the circumstances experienced by this year's graduating class, the Honors College faculty and staff would like to extend an open invitation to stop by Old Central anytime the building is open (typically 8am-5pm; Monday-Friday) and ring the bell. Feel free to give us a call or send an email if you would like to confirm our availability before planning your visit. We hope to see many of you throughout the year, and especially at Homecoming!
